One year ago today, world leaders reached a breakthrough nuclear deal with Iran. Already, that deal is making the world safer. Yet Congress is considering new sanctions that could put the deal in danger and set us back down the path to escalation and war.
It’s important that your members of Congress – especially your senators – hear support from their constituents for what the deal has achieved. Write a letter to the editor today.
In the past year, the Iran nuclear deal has successfully frozen and rolled back Iran’s nuclear program, put in place the most comprehensive inspection regime ever negotiated, and prevented the risk of another U.S. war in the Middle East.
Iran has already poured concrete in its plutonium reactor and shipped more than 8.5 tons of enriched uranium to Russia, cutting off Iran’s short-term uranium and plutonium pathways to producing a nuclear weapon
This progress is happening because millions of pro-peace, pro-diplomacy advocates – people like you – mobilized last summer and fall to protect the deal from congressional sabotage. Now, we need to do it again.
Please write a letter to the editor in support of the deal. Urge Congress to speak out in support of the deal and to reject any legislation that undermines it.
When I talk to members of Congress and their staff, whether they’re Republicans or Democrats, they start with the same question: “where are my constituents on this issue?” Right now, members are getting an earful from people opposed to this deal’s continued success. They need to hear from you.
Please write a letter to the editor today in support of the Iran deal. Make sure to include the names of your senators so that the office will see the letter.
Thank you for acting in support of diplomacy and peace.
