Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society (LMHS) has invited LIPW to cosponsor a lecture by Professor Duane Stoltzfus, Goshen College, on “Pacifists in Chains: The Persecution of Hutterites During the Great War,” also title of the book recently published. The book details the experience of four Hutterite conscientious objectors imprisoned in Alcatraz.
Stoltzfus is Professor of Communications, Goshen College, Indiana. Before joining the faculty at Goshen College he was a staff editor at the New York times and reporter for several other east coast newspapers. He received his Ph.D. from Rutgers University.
