Lancaster Interchurch Peace Witness Forum
March 4-5, 2015
Dr. John Tirman, Researcher, MIT
Sponsored by LIPW and the International Studies Program, Franklin & Marshall College
Forum Focus: “The Deaths of Others: The Fate of Civilians and Their Cultures in America’s Wars”
LIPW has been giving attention to the Environmental, Human and Economic Costs/Impact of War. The Annual Meeting of 2014 featured a case study on the effort of an international consortium to clear unexploded cluster bombs in Laos, left over from the 1964-73 bombing of Laos. We are focusing on the countries where the wars are fought as well as the physical and moral injury to American military personnel, and the diversion of enormous economic resource from the domestic economy to the whole military enterprise.
